A shot from my balcony at the Marriott in Doha

This reminds me of the view from the hotel we stayed at in Hawaii, only there were no factories in the background. Is Doha a very beautiful place?

Just the background? What about the good looking guy in the foreground?

I detect perhaps a hint that my clothing is not not up to date and fashionable or maybe that I am just cheap. This is of course completely untrue. This selection from my extensive wardrobe is a 1992 Exxon "Day of Caring" T-shirt that was given out exclusively to volunteers in the United Way Campaign.

My clothing is selected for the image that it projects and I find that vintage clothing exudes a certain a certain aura that Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger completely lack. By the way, a marathon shirt would have been completely out of place in this setting but a college T-shirt would be OK depending on the color. My selection was, of course, carefully thought out and entirely appropriate.

I too, noticed the T-shirt, but my guess was something more whimsical like a 5K fun run.

A vintage t-shirt... yes, I see. We all have dads who have one. Or two, or even three. It's nothing to be ashamed of. We're not talking about bodies in their trunks - but rather, old "vintage" t-shirts. The old t-shirt, brave object that it is, transcends fashion conciousness and social mores. Dads everywhere are proud of the way they make them feel on a hot afternoon, when they shuck aside their proper workday clothes for a gladrag that actually loves them back. Granted, their old t-shirt isn't old to them - but rather, something they love to defend, no matter how faded or pill-ridden the thing might be.
