On the Train Today

On the train today I saw a stylish young woman with a Louis Vuitton bag seated next to a homeless man with unkempt beard and long hair who was mumbling to himself. She was reading her magazine and he sounded incoherent. I sneaked a picture. There is another world outside of the bubble.

Stumbled across your blog by luck, and I find it very interesting. It’s nice to “see” Japan through someone else’s point of view.

Stuart: I think you are entirely right about the gentleman's bag. The older "R" model is preferred by many outdoorsmen because of the reinforced seams and stitching that the newer bags don't have. The conservative tan upper is also preferred by many to the newer camouflaged "C" model. This fellow is obviously a traditionalist.
