Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday and the secretaries gave me flowers and brought in everything to make maki sushi for lunch. (We ate the cake a little later in the day after the sushi had settled). Gave me flowers - is this a great place or what?

Thanks for the phone calls, cards, and emails. I am thinking of you too....

What kind of sushi? Perhaps my one of my favorites... unagi or anago? And I certainly hope that you obeyed the sign in the upper left (Please bring out with your all stuffs).

The sushi was maguro (tuna), tamago (egg omelette), kani (crab), ikura (salmon roe), and I think katsuo (bonito). Of course we obeyed the sign. In Japan, rules are to be obeyed - what is this broken business? Somebody put up a sign about "I'm not your mother so don't expect me to clean up after you" but nobody could understand it. Mothers don't have to clean up after their children here.
